The National Laboratory for Housing and Construction L.N.H.C is a technical support organization created in 1978 by Presidential Decree No. 78/2004, by the Ministry of Housing and Construction, to meet the growing need of builders and developers for geotechnical studies and analysis of the quality of construction materials.
The National Laboratory for Housing and Construction is a joint stock company with a share capital of 150,000,000.00 DA divided into 15,000 shares with a par value of 10,000 DA each. This share capital is fully subscribed and held by the Ministry of Housing, Urban Planning, and Cities (MHUV). The company's registered office is located at Cité 2248 Logements – Centre Urbain – Ain Naâdja Gué de Constantine – Algiers.
The company currently has over 40 years of professional experience in geotechnical and materials engineering, and continues to fulfill its role today by actively contributing to all activities related to soil mechanics applications, and rock mechanics, with specialized technical supervision and comprehensive expertise and mastery of the entire geotechnical engineering chain and each of its specific fields.
The LNHC provides services in all areas of construction and land use planning:
- Buildings and Facilities : homes, industrial buildings, offices, hospitals, stadiums, etc.
- Industrial structures: Underground pipes, underground parking lots, electrical substations and power lines, wind turbines, etc.
- Civil engineering: tunnels and galleries, engineering structures, retaining structures, water towers, wastewater treatment plants, dams, urban excavations, etc.
- Maritime structures: docks, ports, breakwaters...
- Linear infrastructure: earthworks, material research, roads and highways, railways, airports, etc.
- Natural hazards: stability of slopes and rock faces, soil consolidation, seismic studies, cavity detection, geology, geomorphology, structural engineering, etc.
